Dedicated Community Leader

Dedicated Community Leader
Carmel Steger, a Carson Center volunteer, donor, ambassador, and dedicated community leader was asked by Frederick Gore of the Westfield News: “Why do you volunteer?” Carmel’s response: “I love to contribute to the community.”

It is with deep gratitude that we say thank you to Carmel for her service and willingness to lead in social services, education, civic, environment, human rights and cultural organizations, including her active support of Wide Horizons for Children, the Columbia Rail Trail, Appalachian Mountain Club, The Trustees of Reservations, and the Women’s Institute for Leadership and Development.

Over the past 25 years, Carmel Steger has gone above and beyond in her volunteer work at The Carson Center for Human Services, including oversight of fiscal management, and building community recognition of the broad array of services offered at Carson, and her willingness to fundraise for Carson Programs, which continues to help strengthen individuals, families and the Greater Westfield Community.
