The Carson Center Psychiatry Program developed through a cooperative effort with the University of Massachusetts Memorial Health Care System, whose psychiatrists provide most of the staff for the program. The Carson Center Psychiatry Program provides medical oversight and consultation necessary for comprehensive mental health care. The Carson Center is also a training site for psychiatric residents from the University of Massachusetts. The Carson Center's psychiatrists are investigators for national clinical drug trials for new treatments for mental illness. The psychiatric team is actively involved in continuing education for Carson Center's non-medical staff.
